Located on 10th Street under the DLCC, the Water Feature connects the city with the river. Originally illuminated by underwater lights, the Water Feature is now lit by LED lights which reduce the lighting load by 95%. This is one of Pittsburgh's most unique fountains, walking through the Water Feature is a must while visiting the Convention Center!
Inviting people to the Allegheny River from Penn Avenue, the 10th Street Water Feature was constructed on either side of the pedestrian walkway. This walkway is located under the Convention Center, descending 17 feet with waterfalls and fountain pools on either side. The water for the Water Feature comes from Pittsburgh's fourth river — an aquifer located 50 feet under the Convention Center. The walls surrounding the path flow with water, while the LED overhead lighting creates an extraordinary environment. The walkway was designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects and the Water Feature was designed by Crystal Fountains.
